A MidSummer Night’s Dream – Anniversary Soiree

Saturday, April 13th, 2013

We love sharing unique and creative events; here is one of them.  A couple celebrated 18 years of marriage with 230 of their closet friends and family.  New York designer extraordinaire Ed Libby dreamed up the décor concept and The Design Studio at The Breakers in Palm Beach made it a reality.

Here is some exclusive photos showcasing the highlight of the evening as well as other decor elements that really made this event so special!   Excerpt by  The Design Studio and Photos by The Breakers Weddings & Celebrations.

Guests were serenaded by violin players as they picked up their placecards before entering into the Venetian Ballroom though an incredible draped hallway – complete with chandeliers and fresh floral arrangements.

The décor, inspired by William Shakespeare’s Midsummer Night’s Dream, featured two incredible 10-foot-tall centerpieces. The first, a billowing weeping willow tree with an abundance of phalaenopsis orchids and the second, jeweled organza butterflies and blooming branches in apothecary jars.

Chanel Inspired Wedding – Platinum, Pink and Lavender

Tuesday, September 25th, 2012

Chanel has long been an iconic symbol of luxury, beauty, and fashion so of course it would be one of the most popular inspirations for editorial style shoots, weddings and bridal showers.    Gabrielle “Coco” Bonheur Chanel  was a French fashion designer and founder of the Chanel brand.  She was the only fashion designer to be named on Time Magazine’s 100: The Most Important People of the Century.

Recently, Wildflower Linen and an amazing team of wedding professionals embarked on our own adventure to add a twist to the traditional Chanel black and white wedding look with a unique platinum and lavender wedding palette.  This shoot was featured on Junebug Wedding’s What Junebug Loves Blog!   Using Chanel’s signature “tufted” pleats on some of the elements, we came up with a super chic and stylish photo shoot shot by the talented photographer Callaway Gable .

An amazing backdrop complete with hundreds of hanging glass beads and breathtaking silver globe chandeliers encrusted with crystals was provided by Matias Doorn of Revelry Event Designers.

Many of the rentals and place settings are a part of Nikki Khan of Exquisite Events‘ new silver collection.  This includes dazzling silver chargers with lapis stones and delicate peacock napkin rings.  Pair them with a simple orchid as shown here for the perfect touch. Menus were provided by Copper Willow Paper Studio.

Wildflower Linen is known for our beautiful table linens and over the top designer chair covers.  Here’s another we are dying to share; introducing one of Wildflower Linens latest creations; this Chanel inspired chair cover in platinum.  Diamond pattern fabric, which resembles the signature quilted pattern of Chanel Handbags, is padded and tufted with over 100 mini diamond crystal studs embedded on every inch of the back of the chair cap.   A delicate fabric woven chain lining the edge of the cap is the perfect embellishment to finish this look.

The linen is the crushed velvet silver.  It adds just enough texture to give the table additional movement and interest.

The Women of Chapman enjoy a Wildflower Linen Fashion Runway Show

Thursday, April 26th, 2012

Youngsong Martin, owner and principal designer of Wildflower Linen has done it again with another successful fashion runway show, taking place in Orange County, CA for guests of the Women of Chapman organization.

Nearly 70 seats were filled for an afternoon of fabulous decor, amazing food and a special treat as they witnessed  gorgeous models wearing dozens of different designer dresses created by Youngsong Martin.  The Wildflower Linen Fashion Runway Show began 2 years ago and continues to be a highlight for event functions and fundraisers.  It wouldn’t be significant without its signature concept; every model is “draped and pinned” with an ACTUAL table linen or chair cover that would otherwise be used as a rental for an event.   Models not only have 2 minutes between walks to get dressed, but Youngsong must also pin and prep them for stage…. from Table Linen straight into Dress Linen, literally.   It’s a feat that we must say even the top designers in the nation would have a hard time topping.  You thought 24 hours was difficult to make a dress, try a few minutes!  Move over Project Runway and make room for Wildflower Linen – YSM’s Runway!

Here’s a sneak peak of the event courtesy of Elysium Productions:

THE INVITATION:

THE DECOR:

The event took place in one of Orange County, CA’s newest up and coming location, SOCO Collections.   Wildflower Linen dressed the tables in a delicate lavender tone using carolyn lace caps and a variety of lace chair covers to seat nearly 70.  With the help of wedding coordinator, Carolyn Chen from The Special Day, the event ran smoothly while the decor was stunning!  Florals in light pastel colors & soft candlelight were created by The Mille Fiore while menu and paper goods from Cherish Paperie were the perfect touch to round out the decor.  Culinary creations by Good Gracious! Events included Sweet Pea & Caprese Salad, Pan Roasted Lemon Pepper Salmon Roulade and an Espresso Cappuccino Milkshake Float.

ABOUT THE WOMEN OF CHAPMAN:

Women of Chapman is a vibrant group of philanthropic-minded women who are strongly dedicated to a program of service to Chapman University. Members enjoy a number of educational and fashion-oriented programs throughout the year, including the group’s signature fundraising event, Christmas at The Ritz (internal link to Christmas at The Ritz page.) Starting with just 35 members when it was founded in 1971, the group now comprises more than 220 Women of Chapman.

Over the past four decades, Women of Chapman has given nearly $5 million in gifts to support Chapman University. Gifts from Women of Chapman have been designated for student scholarships and various programs and capital campaigns across campus.

The group’s recent $1.5 million pledge of support to two major capital campaigns is the largest in Women of Chapman history. This gift will name the Women of Chapman Center Stage in the state-of-the-art new Center for the Arts and the Women of Chapman Open-Air Bridge in Millennial Studios, the planned expansion of Dodge College’s Marion Knott Studios.

Notable gifts to Chapman University include:
Women of Chapman Endowed Filmmaker Fund, which supports senior film projects for students in Dodge College of Film and Media Arts
Scholarship support over the years to World Campus Afloat (Semester at Sea) and later to Chapman’s general scholarship fund
Dr. Albert Schweitzer public exhibit (located in Argyros Forum)
The Fashionables Courtyard and Sacred Mound Garden in the Fish Interfaith Center
The Fashionables Terrace in the Leatherby Libraries
The Fashionable Women of Chapman Rotunda Boardroom and Terrace in Marion Knott Studios

An Excerpt from History of Women of Chapman
Written by Donna Bunce

We have given Chapman University close to $5 million dollars, most notably since “Christmas at The Ritz” was launched, which has allowed The Fashionable Women of Chapman – we did change our name about 10 years ago – to give $250,000 to the Leatherby Libraries, $1 million to the building of Marion Knott Studios, home of the amazing Dodge College of Film and Media Arts, with another $1 million pledged to an endowment that will fund senior film projects for Dodge College students. And, that’s not all… since we are close to fulfilling that million-dollar endowment pledge, our board just approved a $1 million pledge to Chapman’s proposed Center for the Arts naming the Women of Chapman Center Stage, and $500,000 to the building of Dodge College’s Millennial Studios and the naming of the Women of Chapman Open-Air Bridge.

Today, we stand at a membership of 220, with a group of impassioned women “running the show.” I do want to thank our group’s presidents who carried on after Mary Lou passed the torch. You are all responsible for keeping this group viable and fun. Mary Dell Barkouras, Joan Riach-Gayner, the late Betty Belden Palmer, Adrienne Brennan, Karen Elliott, Leslie Cancellieri, Charlene Prager, and Adrienne again this year — and I had a two-year stint in there as well.

Our programs have become legendary, from visiting Tony Duquette’s legendary Dawnridge estate in Beverly Hills and meeting His Imperial Royal Highness Archduke Dr. Geza von Habsburg, the curator of Fabergé and the great-great-grandson of Austrian Emperor Franz-Joseph, to meeting Tony Bill, producer of the The Sting, winner of the Academy Award for Best Picture in 1973, and making fools of ourselves creating our own commercials while Dodge College film students filmed and edited us.

The friendships formed here are deep-felt and solid. I love this group because it is not a stereotype. There are ladies of all ages and all walks of life in the Women of Chapman, our official name as of July 1st, who have a common vision to help make Chapman University the best it can be. And, we are busting our buttons that Chapman has been selected as one of America’s finest universities – and also as one of the “Best in the West” – in the 2011 edition of the independent education services company Princeton Review, and continues to be counted among the best in the nation by the prestigious U.S. News & World Report. Now, that’s impressive!

Featured on Grace Ormonde Wedding Style…

Friday, March 25th, 2011

I know I know… Grace Ormonde Wedding Style Magazine’s Spring/Summer 2011 issue has been on newsstands for a while now but we couldn’t resist but to open the pages again.  There are so many things to see and just in case you missed any of it, we’re here to share them with you again!
It’s really true that hard work pays off.  Even with traveling around the country for her book signing tour, Grace somehow managed to find time to share the  latest styles, innovative tablescapes photoshoots  and beautiful weddings.

Keeping it short and sweet, view the amazing locations,  tablescapes and linens from our features in both the National and New England issues of Grace Ormonde Wedding Style.

FEATURE WEDDING:

Wildflower Linen Arizona Showroom Opening Video

Wednesday, December 1st, 2010

A few weeks back, we shared with you the opening of the Wildflower Linen Arizona Showroom Opening Party!  Amazing photos were taken of the event, gorgeous table displays,  and a linen fashion runway show that was the highlight of the evening.  Now you can feel like you were sitting in front of the action with our showroom opening video graciously provided by Serendipity Videography.

Watch the talents of our owner and designer, Youngsong Martin, as well as the amazing styles, textures, colors and quality of our fabrics. Wildflower Linen is “designer table linen and chair cover rentals” but just remember… ANYONE, ANYWHERE and for ANY OCCASSION can rent these linens and make your event a designer event too. To learn more about any of the products you see on the video or photos below,  contact any showroom location or reps to rent these linens for your next event.

In case you missed it, below is a portion of the original post with the amazing photos by Sedona Bride Photography or click here to view the entire post!

Wildflower Linen celebrates yet another milestone with an Open House Event for our brand new showroom.  But this time, it’s not fun in the sun in “cool” California, it’s fun in the sun in “hot” Arizona!  And when Wildflower Linen says open house, we not only mean great food, people and fun; but get ready for amazing style and great entertainment too!  What better way to show off our linens than in a showroom, on the tables and again on the runway; a fashion show runway showcasing our designer table linen and chair covers that anyone can rent!

Katrina and Andrew from Sedona Bride Photography captured the most amazing images from the event and were nice enough to let us grab a sneak peek.

This is our 3rd fashion show this year and they keep getting better and better!   Pro-em played a pivotal role in making this event a success with their tent,  lighting and rentals, while sierra bonita cateringshelley’s specialty desserts and pour masters wined and dined guests!

Gorgeous models showcased Wildflower Linen’s latest collections as well as signature favorites by wearing the designs across a floral and rose petal runway carpet created by events by showstoppers.

We also had amazing floral designers create tablescapes for the event, Arizona style… of course!!   We LOVE how designers can take the same linen and with different elements, florals and visions, a whole new feel and concept is created!  Each one worked with a theme and these are their amazing creations:

Petal Pushers created this lovely tablescape using our custom Lauren linen and Marilyn Chair Covers for their “wedding” inspired theme.

When asked to do a “southwest” themed table to really appreciate the styles of Arizona, md design didn’t hold anything back.  Using our new Carrington linen, they truly captured the beauty and feel of Arizona.

Along with the amazing petal runway, Events by Showstoppers created this lovely “wedding” inspired table using the Carolyn Linen and chair covers in champagne.

Flora Bella created a playful “Girls luncheon” themed table using the custom Juliet Linen in lavendar and Venus Chair Covers.

This vibrant tablescape created by Avante-Garde Studio using Iridescent taffeta aquamarineand turquoise jeweled chair covers is the perfect compliment to create this “holiday” inspired theme.

This “rock n roll” inspired tablescape created by The Flower Studio rocked the evening.  They used the Alexa linen in fuchsia paired with curly willow chivari chair sleeves in black.

We also want to thank White House Florals for their floral arrangements for the showroom area.

We also couldn’t have made any of this possible if it weren’t for all the wonderful and talented vendors that sponsored our event.   Our amazing list is below:
