Wildflower Linen’s Beverly Hills Fashion Show Recap

Thursday, July 7th, 2011

Last month, we sent an email blasting  our excitement  about owner and principal designer of Wildflower Linen, Youngsong Martin, putting on her fashion show for Exquisite Event’s Terrace Tea Event in Beverly Hills.

Now, we’re happy to send you a recap of the event along with some amazing shot of the models wearing none other than Youngsong’s upcoming Wildflower Linen Fall Collection.

From Arizona to Las Vegas, Young has wowed audiences with her signature runway shows in which she instantaneously transforms her luxurious table linens into haute apparel by deftly draping and pinning them to professional high-fashion models.  Although these impromptu gowns and dresses revert back into designer Wildflower Linen rental items, it doesn’t stop fashionistas from inquiring about purchasing them to wear at their next event.

In her fashion show at the landmark Beverly Wilshire, a Four Seasons hotel, Youngsong didn’t disappoint!  She unveiled Wildflower Linen’s new fall collections of designer fabrics.  While guest enjoyed this dazzlingly creative trunk show-style linen extravaganza, they also enjoyed cocktails in the Rodeo Terrace room of the Beverly Wilshire, followed by afternoon tea in the hotel’s Le Grand Trianon room.

Youngsong Martin teamed with Event Planner and Designer, Nikki Khan of Exquisite Events, to come up with an East-meets-West theme to the event, including three different design concepts evoking the Hamptons, Paris and India.  Youngsong’s newest designs in table linens and chair covers reflected both the diversity and unity of global decor motifs. “We felt the colors and fabric textures were very eclectic and uniquely of the regions,” she explains of inspirations taken from Long Island’s posh Hamptons resorts, the romance of Parisian glamour and the colorful, timeless drama of Indian culture.

The afternoon of cocktails, Wildflower Linen’s fashion show, and tea service was hosted by Radha Arora, regional vice president and general manager of the Beverly Wilshire, and by wedding and banquet planner-designer Nikki Khan of Exquisite Events.

None of this could be done without the gracious help of the following Sponsored Vendors:

Youngsong Martin of Wildflower Linen to put on a Fashion Show in Beverly Hills!

Friday, June 10th, 2011

Wildflower Linen’s founder Youngsong Martin

to put on her signature fashion show in Beverly Hills

BEVERLY HILLS, California  June 10, 2011 – Youngsong Martin is the veteran high-fashion apparel designer who redefined special-event rental decor after founding Wildflower Linen and introducing the industry to her unique brand of designer table linen and chair covers.

This weekend, Youngsong will bring her fashion show here to the landmark Beverly Wilshire, a Four Seasons hotel, on Sunday, June 12, at 3 p.m., when she will unveil Wildflower Linen’s new fall collections of designer fabrics.  While guest enjoy this dazzlingly creative trunk show-style linen extravaganza, they will also enjoy cocktails in the Rodeo Terrace room of the Beverly Wilshire, followed by afternoon tea in the hotel’s Le Grand Trianon room.

Youngsong Martin (Wildflower Linen) & Nikki Khan (Exquisite Events)

Youngsong Martin teamed with Event Planner and Designer, Nikki Khan of Exquisite Events, to come up with an East-meets-West theme to the event, including three different design concepts evoking the Hamptons, Paris and India.  Youngsong’s newest designs in table linens and chair covers will reflect both the diversity and unity of global decor motifs. “We felt the colors and fabric textures will be very eclectic and uniquely of the regions,” she explains of inspirations taken from Long Island’s posh Hamptons resorts, the romance of Parisian glamour and the colorful, timeless drama of Indian culture.

“What we intend to show is how these regions all think alike aesthetically, even though they are so far apart from each other,” Young says. “For example, India and Paris are so different in culture, color sensibility, lifestyle and cuisine, and yet they also somehow reveal in their unique ways that they are more similar than different, and that they have been influencing each other worldwide for centuries.”

The afternoon of cocktails, Wildflower Linen’s fashion show, and tea service is being hosted by Radha Arora, regional vice president and general manager of the Beverly Wilshire, and by wedding and banquet planner-designer Nikki Khan of Exquisite Events.

For more information about Youngsong Martin and Wildflower Linen, visit the company’s website at www.wildflowerlinens.com or call (714) 522-2777.  Showrooms are available in Beverly Hills, Costa Mesa, San Francisco, Scottsdale, Arizona, and Park City, Utah.

Watch the Shedding for the Wedding Finale on the CW

Tuesday, April 12th, 2011

The moment is finally here for one lucky couple whose hard work to lose weight finally pays off, winning them their dream wedding.  Shedding for the Wedding’s FINALE airs this Wednesday, April 13th on the CW.  Find out who wins and which linens were chosen!!!

The three remaining couple in last week’s episode are now down to two!

Click HERE to see the trailer of the final event.

After 3 months of continuing to shed weight at home, the couples return to face the scale one last time. Previously eliminated couples weigh-in to win the ultimate honeymoon, while the final two couples square off in one last weigh-in to win the wedding of their dreams. Wedding planner Brian Worley has just 24 hours to pull together the wedding of a lifetime for the winning couple.

In preparation for this finale, Wildflower Linen provided all the table linen and chair cover rentals that were previously selected by each of these couples in order to help Brian plan for the big event.

Click HERE to see the full episode where contestants choose their linen selections (about 11 minutes into the segment).

Shedding for the wedding will be airing this Wednesday on the CW 9/8c.   Check your local listings for channels in your area.  The CW network is home of some of our favorite guilty pleasures - Gossip GirlOne Tree HillVampire DiariesHell Cats… need we say more???

About Shedding for the Wedding:

They say two of the most stressful things in life are losing weight and getting married. Imagine having to go through both at the same time. In The CW’s new reality competition “Shedding For The Wedding,” that is the challenge that nine overweight couples must face as they compete to see who can lose the most weight and win the wedding of their dreams.

In the series hosted by actress Sara Rue (“Less Than Perfect”), the engaged couples from all walks of life come to Los Angeles, where they will live together and compete over a three-month period. The couples will undergo dramatic physical and emotional transformations as they change their lifestyles and eating habits under the supervision of celebrity nutritionist Ashley Koff (RD). They will also endure hours of grueling workouts with world-class trainers Nicky Holender and Jennifer Cohen.

During this time, the couples will also be planning their fantasy weddings with the help of A-list wedding planner Brian Worley. The unique character and background of each couple will be reflected in the wedding themes they select.

In each episode of “Shedding For The Wedding,” the couples face off in a big physical challenge, competing to win one element of their wedding — from the invitations, to the cake, to the rings. Whatever they win will be theirs to keep. At the end of each episode, the couples will step on the scale and be weighed together — the two couples who have lost the least amount of combined weight that week will face off in an elimination challenge. The couple that loses that challenge will be eliminated.

In the finale, the first seven eliminated couples will return for one more weigh-in. The couple that has continued to lose the most weight at home on their own will win their fantasy honeymoon. Then our final two couples will face off for one last weigh-in. In the end, one couple will win their fantasy wedding — a once-in-a-lifetime event — that America will attend.

Hosted by Sara Rue, “Shedding For The Wedding” is from 25/7, Breakfast Anytime, Horizon Alternative Television and Raquel Productions, with executive producers Dave Broome (“The Biggest Loser”), Rick Hurvitz (“Pimp My Ride”) and Ari Shofet (“Pimp My Ride”).

Royal Wedding Preview on KTLA

Friday, April 8th, 2011

Ahhh, it’s April; spring is in the air, the flowers are blooming  and a royal wedding of a lifetime is about to take place that is estimated to be viewed by over 2 billion people across the world.   Brian Worley, wedding planner for Shedding for the Wedding on the CW, showed off his version of how the royal wedding of Prince William and Kate Middleton should look like on KTLA.
Brian displayed some of our newest table linens and a sneak peek at our custom napkin ring inspired by the late Princess Diana’s ring which has now been passed down as Kate’s engagement ring.

250 of these new napkin rings are being created as a custom piece for our friends at Tres Fabu Event Planning and Design whose  client is marrying on Easter weekend, just one week before the big Royal Wedding.  The ring is a replica of the dazzling oval blue 18-carat sapphire and diamond ring once belonging to the Prince’s mother.

From a local article in TODAY (MSNBC) -

After Diana’s death, the ring reportedly came into Prince Harry’s possession, while William inherited a Cartier watch. Harry apparently then decided that the ring should be on the finger of the future queen of England and gave it to William to give to his fiancee.

“Obviously, she’s not going to be around to share in any of the fun and excitement of it all, so this is my way of keeping her sort of close to it all,” William said of his late mother in a joint interview with Middleton on Tuesday.

Before leaving on the trip to Kenya during which he proposed to Kate, William took the ring from a royal safe in what Britain’s Daily Mail newspaper described as a “cloak-and-dagger” operation.

William carried the ring around with him in his “rucksack” for three weeks in Africa before he finally popped the question.

GET THIS LOOK: (inspired by Brian’s take on the Royal Wedding details)

Congratulations to the Bytheways – Kasi and Thomas and the Royal Family - Prince William and Kate Middleton on their upcoming nuptials!!!

A Star-Studded New Year’s Eve Bash @ Cosmopolitan Las Vegas!

Friday, January 14th, 2011

LAS VEGAS (January 1, 2011)

We all know Jay-Z  can light up a city like New York singing  his “Empire State of Mind” hit with Alicia Keys but did you know he can also make the ball drop in Vegas too?  Jay-Z and Coldplay co-hosted a special New Year’s Eve concert at the Marquee Nightclub &  Day Club, Cosmopolitan, the newest hotel & resort to hit the famed Las Vegas Strip.

Dozens of celebrities, high-rollers, and thousands of guests were treated to surprise performances throughout the evening by Beyonce, Kanye West, and John Mayer.

Revelers at The Cosmopolitan’s New Year’s weekend included couples JAY-Z and Beyonce, Jennifer Lopez and Marc Anthony, on again duo Cameron Diaz and Alex Rodriguez, Haylie Duff and Nick Zano, Channing Tatum and wife Jenna Dewan, Ellen Pompeo and husband Chris Ivery, and Mel B with Stephen Belafonte.

Check out this video filled with fireworks, Jay-Z and other concert performances and even celebrity  interviews!

Also spotted at the weekend’s events were Gwyneth Paltrow—wife of Coldplay’s lead singer Chris Martin—Blake Lively and Jessica Szohr of Gossip Girl, Kellan Lutz, Jamie Lynn Sigler, Kirsten Dunst, Rashida Jones, Emmy Rossum, Bonnie Somerville, Shiri Appleby, Taraji Henson, Lucas Haas and Emmanuelle Chriqui.  Other guests included designer Alexander Wang and musical guests Jared Followill of Kings of Leon, Brandy, Christina Milian, Lance Bass and Fab Five Freddie. (source – PRNewswire)

About The Look

Designer Colin Cowieoversaw the production and worked with the venue’s director of entertainment and special events, Rehan Choudry.  As a special feature in Bizbash, New Year’s Eve began with a luxe 7:30 p.m. caviar and Dom Pérignon reception billed as black-tie, while the woman wore sequins. Celebrities mingled and then moved to dinner in a ballroom the production team had been building out for weeks. The formal, sit-down event for 1,300 involved recarpeting the ballroom and bringing in a complete custom installation including an elevated platform around the dining room and a circular stage in the center of the room.  Some of the tables—a mix of square and banquet—were clad in purple mirror, others in silver mirror. Peonies and dark purple calla lilies filled the space. Cowie called the look “very chic, very elegant, very sexy,” and described the decor as the highlight of the weekend from a production standpoint.

After dinner, guests moved upstairs to a 40,000-square-foot ballroom (the property’s existing nightspots weren’t big enough to accommodate the 2,300 concert guests), which Cowie’s team built out into a full-scale nightclub. There were elevated V.I.P. areas, about 20 mirror balls in the middle of the dance floor, confetti canons galore, and a major stage for solo and mash-up performances by billed artists Coldplay and Jay-Z.

“The Tourist” Movie Premiere After-party featured on Bizbash

Wednesday, December 15th, 2010

-December 10, 2010

BizBash New York reports on yet another amazing Movie Premier After-Party, one that for sure did not disappoint!   The event all began at  The Tourist‘s movie premier at The Ziegfeld Theater.  And then over 800 bared the cold to attend the after-party at the prestigious Gotham Hall in NYC.  With stars like Johnny Depp and Angelina Jolie, any after-party is worth sticking around till the end!

Event producer Chris Benarroch who worked with Columbia Tristar senior vice president of special events Alison Bossert to construct the event’s look and feel, pulled out all the stops to create a glamorous party.  The film takes place all across parts of Venice from Hotels to Train depots with a final scene taking place at a ball.  This scene set the mood and inspiration for this elaborate party.   “The party should be incredibly luxurious, and the goal became to recreate a Venetian ball in the middle of Manhattan”,said Benarroch.

And what a sight it was!!  Silk organza panels created a circular frame around the chandelier, setting a backdrop for the rest of the rich furnishings including lavished gold sofas and velvet ottomans.  Inside the draping, guests could sit and mingle at the tables covered in rich chocolate linens, persimmon colored chair pad covers and red florals.   The evening’s focal point was a mirrored circular bar topped with towering rose- and peony-filled arrangement by Ron Wendt.

Wildflower Linen Arizona Showroom Opening Video

Wednesday, December 1st, 2010

A few weeks back, we shared with you the opening of the Wildflower Linen Arizona Showroom Opening Party!  Amazing photos were taken of the event, gorgeous table displays,  and a linen fashion runway show that was the highlight of the evening.  Now you can feel like you were sitting in front of the action with our showroom opening video graciously provided by Serendipity Videography.

Watch the talents of our owner and designer, Youngsong Martin, as well as the amazing styles, textures, colors and quality of our fabrics. Wildflower Linen is “designer table linen and chair cover rentals” but just remember… ANYONE, ANYWHERE and for ANY OCCASSION can rent these linens and make your event a designer event too. To learn more about any of the products you see on the video or photos below,  contact any showroom location or reps to rent these linens for your next event.

In case you missed it, below is a portion of the original post with the amazing photos by Sedona Bride Photography or click here to view the entire post!

Wildflower Linen celebrates yet another milestone with an Open House Event for our brand new showroom.  But this time, it’s not fun in the sun in “cool” California, it’s fun in the sun in “hot” Arizona!  And when Wildflower Linen says open house, we not only mean great food, people and fun; but get ready for amazing style and great entertainment too!  What better way to show off our linens than in a showroom, on the tables and again on the runway; a fashion show runway showcasing our designer table linen and chair covers that anyone can rent!

Katrina and Andrew from Sedona Bride Photography captured the most amazing images from the event and were nice enough to let us grab a sneak peek.

This is our 3rd fashion show this year and they keep getting better and better!   Pro-em played a pivotal role in making this event a success with their tent,  lighting and rentals, while sierra bonita cateringshelley’s specialty desserts and pour masters wined and dined guests!

Gorgeous models showcased Wildflower Linen’s latest collections as well as signature favorites by wearing the designs across a floral and rose petal runway carpet created by events by showstoppers.

We also had amazing floral designers create tablescapes for the event, Arizona style… of course!!   We LOVE how designers can take the same linen and with different elements, florals and visions, a whole new feel and concept is created!  Each one worked with a theme and these are their amazing creations:

Petal Pushers created this lovely tablescape using our custom Lauren linen and Marilyn Chair Covers for their “wedding” inspired theme.

When asked to do a “southwest” themed table to really appreciate the styles of Arizona, md design didn’t hold anything back.  Using our new Carrington linen, they truly captured the beauty and feel of Arizona.

Along with the amazing petal runway, Events by Showstoppers created this lovely “wedding” inspired table using the Carolyn Linen and chair covers in champagne.

Flora Bella created a playful “Girls luncheon” themed table using the custom Juliet Linen in lavendar and Venus Chair Covers.

This vibrant tablescape created by Avante-Garde Studio using Iridescent taffeta aquamarineand turquoise jeweled chair covers is the perfect compliment to create this “holiday” inspired theme.

This “rock n roll” inspired tablescape created by The Flower Studio rocked the evening.  They used the Alexa linen in fuchsia paired with curly willow chivari chair sleeves in black.

We also want to thank White House Florals for their floral arrangements for the showroom area.

We also couldn’t have made any of this possible if it weren’t for all the wonderful and talented vendors that sponsored our event.   Our amazing list is below:

Dining By Design San Francisco

Tuesday, November 30th, 2010

Wildflower Linen is proud to be a sponsor for Dining By Design, San Francisco.  This year, we were happy to donate linen rentlas for the event, a few table designers and had the privilege to create a tabletop design for a second year in row.

Design Industries Foundation Fighting AIDS (DIFFA), kicked off the 2 day event with the Table-HOP & Taste that took place Wednesday, the 17th of November.  This was a preview party that set the stage for Thursday night’s gala as designers and guests mingled and previewed the incredible table creations. Guests had a chance to view all tables and meet the designers while enjoying fine wines and Kettel One vodka cocktails matched with delectable hors d’oeuvres prepared by several of the city’s top restaurants.

Rich sapphire colors and jewel tones are a trend that is returning so we wanted to do something whimsical,  fun and colorful while still showing richness and elegance.  Where else but DBD would be the best place to do something unique and extreme … so we took our inspiration from the classic movie, The Wizard of Oz and called our design “The New Emerald City”.

We created a clean backdrop of black and white wall treatments with windows, ornate mirrors, frames and a dramatic 40″ black chandlier.  This was juxtaposed with the ever vibrant and colorful table top filled with emerald green dupioni silks, gold accented chargers, emerald and amber glassware and a table runner of sunflower yellow florals.  Tall cylinders filled with emerald gems and lights emitted the glow of the emerald world.

Mike Shriver took these unique shots!  Click here to view the images he took of all the table designs!

We worked in collaboration with the uber talented Paige from Passiflora Designs who created all the amazing floral pieces and glassware treatments on the table.  She even created a 3-dimensional artpiece that was suspended against the wall showing a yellow brick road made out of a pauve of florals.

We also couldn’t have done it without the help of Hartmann Studios who was rewarded the rental company of choice for Dining By Design this year.   They provided many items rentals, table glassware and place settings that finished the look.

Check out some other amazing table top designs taken by our friends at Global Gourmet Catering.

Stylenik took some amazing shots as well!
