Prince William and Kate Middleton’s Polo Match Luncheon

Tuesday, July 26th, 2011

Wildflower Linen has finally been approved to share our excitement over having provided the linens for Prince William and Kate Middleton’s Polo Match Luncheon sponsored by Tiffany & Co.  The event was held at the Santa Barbara Polo and Racquet Club in Carpinteria, CA on July 9, 2011.  The polo match and luncheon event, called The Foundation Polo Challenge, was held to support the American Friends of The Foundation of Prince William and Prince Harry.

Prince William took to the field himself during the match and scored 4 goals, which led his team to victory with the score of 5-2.  His beauitful wife, Kate Middleton presented him with the trophy.  Many celebrities were in attendance including Joe Jonas, Zoe Saldana, Rob Lowe, Jennifer Love Hewitt, Rosario Dawson and Molly Sims. He made a lovely speech after the match.

After the match, the day’s festivities continued with an exclusive private reception and a three-course luncheon created by celebrity chef Giada de Laurentiis.  She served over 3,600 people at this luncheon.  Celebrity event planner Brian Worley from Your Bash!, recently known for his work on the CW’s Shedding for the Wedding,  was on hand to make the event as seamless and beautiful as the guest of honors.

Wildflower Linen made a speciality linen in pristine white for the Royal Family while the light blue linens were presented by Tiffany & Co.  Wildflower Linen custom fabricated our linens with imported yarn of only the highest quality for this event.  White peonies were the centerpiece florals of choice.  This high-profile event not only raised funds for two important charities, but also kicked off the 2011 summer polo season as well as celebrated the Santa Barbara Polo & Racquet Club’s Centennial.  Tickets for the match and the lunch went up to $4,000 a piece.  It was truly a Royal Affair!

Wildflower Linen’s Beverly Hills Fashion Show Recap

Thursday, July 7th, 2011

Last month, we sent an email blasting  our excitement  about owner and principal designer of Wildflower Linen, Youngsong Martin, putting on her fashion show for Exquisite Event’s Terrace Tea Event in Beverly Hills.

Now, we’re happy to send you a recap of the event along with some amazing shot of the models wearing none other than Youngsong’s upcoming Wildflower Linen Fall Collection.

From Arizona to Las Vegas, Young has wowed audiences with her signature runway shows in which she instantaneously transforms her luxurious table linens into haute apparel by deftly draping and pinning them to professional high-fashion models.  Although these impromptu gowns and dresses revert back into designer Wildflower Linen rental items, it doesn’t stop fashionistas from inquiring about purchasing them to wear at their next event.

In her fashion show at the landmark Beverly Wilshire, a Four Seasons hotel, Youngsong didn’t disappoint!  She unveiled Wildflower Linen’s new fall collections of designer fabrics.  While guest enjoyed this dazzlingly creative trunk show-style linen extravaganza, they also enjoyed cocktails in the Rodeo Terrace room of the Beverly Wilshire, followed by afternoon tea in the hotel’s Le Grand Trianon room.

Youngsong Martin teamed with Event Planner and Designer, Nikki Khan of Exquisite Events, to come up with an East-meets-West theme to the event, including three different design concepts evoking the Hamptons, Paris and India.  Youngsong’s newest designs in table linens and chair covers reflected both the diversity and unity of global decor motifs. “We felt the colors and fabric textures were very eclectic and uniquely of the regions,” she explains of inspirations taken from Long Island’s posh Hamptons resorts, the romance of Parisian glamour and the colorful, timeless drama of Indian culture.

The afternoon of cocktails, Wildflower Linen’s fashion show, and tea service was hosted by Radha Arora, regional vice president and general manager of the Beverly Wilshire, and by wedding and banquet planner-designer Nikki Khan of Exquisite Events.

None of this could be done without the gracious help of the following Sponsored Vendors:

Youngsong Martin of Wildflower Linen to put on a Fashion Show in Beverly Hills!

Friday, June 10th, 2011

Wildflower Linen’s founder Youngsong Martin

to put on her signature fashion show in Beverly Hills

BEVERLY HILLS, California  June 10, 2011 – Youngsong Martin is the veteran high-fashion apparel designer who redefined special-event rental decor after founding Wildflower Linen and introducing the industry to her unique brand of designer table linen and chair covers.

This weekend, Youngsong will bring her fashion show here to the landmark Beverly Wilshire, a Four Seasons hotel, on Sunday, June 12, at 3 p.m., when she will unveil Wildflower Linen’s new fall collections of designer fabrics.  While guest enjoy this dazzlingly creative trunk show-style linen extravaganza, they will also enjoy cocktails in the Rodeo Terrace room of the Beverly Wilshire, followed by afternoon tea in the hotel’s Le Grand Trianon room.

Youngsong Martin (Wildflower Linen) & Nikki Khan (Exquisite Events)

Youngsong Martin teamed with Event Planner and Designer, Nikki Khan of Exquisite Events, to come up with an East-meets-West theme to the event, including three different design concepts evoking the Hamptons, Paris and India.  Youngsong’s newest designs in table linens and chair covers will reflect both the diversity and unity of global decor motifs. “We felt the colors and fabric textures will be very eclectic and uniquely of the regions,” she explains of inspirations taken from Long Island’s posh Hamptons resorts, the romance of Parisian glamour and the colorful, timeless drama of Indian culture.

“What we intend to show is how these regions all think alike aesthetically, even though they are so far apart from each other,” Young says. “For example, India and Paris are so different in culture, color sensibility, lifestyle and cuisine, and yet they also somehow reveal in their unique ways that they are more similar than different, and that they have been influencing each other worldwide for centuries.”

The afternoon of cocktails, Wildflower Linen’s fashion show, and tea service is being hosted by Radha Arora, regional vice president and general manager of the Beverly Wilshire, and by wedding and banquet planner-designer Nikki Khan of Exquisite Events.

For more information about Youngsong Martin and Wildflower Linen, visit the company’s website at www.wildflowerlinens.com or call (714) 522-2777.  Showrooms are available in Beverly Hills, Costa Mesa, San Francisco, Scottsdale, Arizona, and Park City, Utah.

It was important to Charlene and Steve that their wedding was an intimate celebration with their closest family and friends. Real Wedding Featured in Weddings Unveiled Magazine

Friday, June 3rd, 2011

Congratulations to the lovely bride, Lauren Dalessio and her hubby Marc Keliman, on their wedding nuptials!  The wedding photos were amazing so we, of course, wanted to have Lauren and Marc as one of our Wildflower Linen Real Wedding Blogs.

Take a look below as we go through the highlights of their special day, courtesy of Scarlett Lillian Photography.

Guests flew from California, New York, and as far as Shanghai and Anchorage Alaska to celebrate Lauren and Marc’s wedding.  Lauren was dressed in a stunning Oscar De La Renta.

The elegant affair began with an outdoor ceremony in the gardens to the sounds of the spanish guitar.   They exchanged vows with the gorgeous Vizcaya Museum and Gardens in Miami, Florida as their backdrop.
Guests were led into the 19th century mansion and greeted with traditional tapas and sangria.
Cocktails were followed by a formal seated dinner at an 80 ft long royal table adorned with an ivory one-of-a-kind custom-made Wildflower Linen.    The table was topped with a runner of purple flowers and silver candelabras just steps from the Bay’s waterfront.
After dinner, the newly married couple danced the night away with friends and family under the starlit Miami sky.

Throughout the wedding process, Lauren spent quite a bit of time getting to know Owner and Principal Designer, Youngsong Martin and are now wonderful friends.  Young took such a liking to the bride that she even named the custom linens used at the wedding after her, naming it the Lauren Collection
This custom “Lauren”  linen is over 80 ft Long!  Iridescent taffeta ivory fabric is hand sewn horizontally layer upon layer and each layering piece has a trim that is cut in a precise manner to create a wave effect.

The wedding was also recently featured in Weddings Unveiled Magazine with the full article below!

Watch the Shedding for the Wedding Finale on the CW

Tuesday, April 12th, 2011

The moment is finally here for one lucky couple whose hard work to lose weight finally pays off, winning them their dream wedding.  Shedding for the Wedding’s FINALE airs this Wednesday, April 13th on the CW.  Find out who wins and which linens were chosen!!!

The three remaining couple in last week’s episode are now down to two!

After 3 months of continuing to shed weight at home, the couples return to face the scale one last time. Previously eliminated couples weigh-in to win the ultimate honeymoon, while the final two couples square off in one last weigh-in to win the wedding of their dreams. Wedding planner Brian Worley has just 24 hours to pull together the wedding of a lifetime for the winning couple.

In preparation for this finale, Wildflower Linen provided all the table linen and chair cover rentals that were previously selected by each of these couples in order to help Brian plan for the big event.

Click HERE to see the full episode where contestants choose their linen selections (about 11 minutes into the segment).

Shedding for the wedding will be airing this Wednesday on the CW 9/8c.   Check your local listings for channels in your area.  The CW network is home of some of our favorite guilty pleasures - Gossip GirlOne Tree HillVampire DiariesHell Cats… need we say more???

About Shedding for the Wedding:

They say two of the most stressful things in life are losing weight and getting married. Imagine having to go through both at the same time. In The CW’s new reality competition “Shedding For The Wedding,” that is the challenge that nine overweight couples must face as they compete to see who can lose the most weight and win the wedding of their dreams.

In the series hosted by actress Sara Rue (“Less Than Perfect”), the engaged couples from all walks of life come to Los Angeles, where they will live together and compete over a three-month period. The couples will undergo dramatic physical and emotional transformations as they change their lifestyles and eating habits under the supervision of celebrity nutritionist Ashley Koff (RD). They will also endure hours of grueling workouts with world-class trainers Nicky Holender and Jennifer Cohen.

During this time, the couples will also be planning their fantasy weddings with the help of A-list wedding planner Brian Worley. The unique character and background of each couple will be reflected in the wedding themes they select.

In each episode of “Shedding For The Wedding,” the couples face off in a big physical challenge, competing to win one element of their wedding — from the invitations, to the cake, to the rings. Whatever they win will be theirs to keep. At the end of each episode, the couples will step on the scale and be weighed together — the two couples who have lost the least amount of combined weight that week will face off in an elimination challenge. The couple that loses that challenge will be eliminated.

In the finale, the first seven eliminated couples will return for one more weigh-in. The couple that has continued to lose the most weight at home on their own will win their fantasy honeymoon. Then our final two couples will face off for one last weigh-in. In the end, one couple will win their fantasy wedding — a once-in-a-lifetime event — that America will attend.

Hosted by Sara Rue, “Shedding For The Wedding” is from 25/7, Breakfast Anytime, Horizon Alternative Television and Raquel Productions, with executive producers Dave Broome (“The Biggest Loser”), Rick Hurvitz (“Pimp My Ride”) and Ari Shofet (“Pimp My Ride”).

Royal Wedding Preview on KTLA

Friday, April 8th, 2011

Ahhh, it’s April; spring is in the air, the flowers are blooming  and a royal wedding of a lifetime is about to take place that is estimated to be viewed by over 2 billion people across the world.   Brian Worley, wedding planner for Shedding for the Wedding on the CW, showed off his version of how the royal wedding of Prince William and Kate Middleton should look like on KTLA.
Brian displayed some of our newest table linens and a sneak peek at our custom napkin ring inspired by the late Princess Diana’s ring which has now been passed down as Kate’s engagement ring.

250 of these new napkin rings are being created as a custom piece for our friends at Tres Fabu Event Planning and Design whose  client is marrying on Easter weekend, just one week before the big Royal Wedding.  The ring is a replica of the dazzling oval blue 18-carat sapphire and diamond ring once belonging to the Prince’s mother.

From a local article in TODAY (MSNBC) -

After Diana’s death, the ring reportedly came into Prince Harry’s possession, while William inherited a Cartier watch. Harry apparently then decided that the ring should be on the finger of the future queen of England and gave it to William to give to his fiancee.

“Obviously, she’s not going to be around to share in any of the fun and excitement of it all, so this is my way of keeping her sort of close to it all,” William said of his late mother in a joint interview with Middleton on Tuesday.

Before leaving on the trip to Kenya during which he proposed to Kate, William took the ring from a royal safe in what Britain’s Daily Mail newspaper described as a “cloak-and-dagger” operation.

William carried the ring around with him in his “rucksack” for three weeks in Africa before he finally popped the question.

GET THIS LOOK: (inspired by Brian’s take on the Royal Wedding details)

From Left to Right:

Charmeuse Red, Milano Red (underlay is charmeuse red), Iridescent Taffeta Merlot, French Brocade Red

Lilybelle Gold, Shantung Butter, *Natasha Gold, Milano Gold (underlay is shantung butter) .

*Natasha Gold was recently used at a White House Luncheon.

Congratulations to the Bytheways – Kasi and Thomas and the Royal Family - Prince William and Kate Middleton on their upcoming nuptials!!!
