We hope everyone had a wonderful 4th of July, celebrating Independence Day and being thankful for our freedom. We wouldn’t be able to achieve this without the many men and women in our Military who are putting their lives on the line for us everyday. We are so happy to take this time to tell all our viewers and readers that Wildflower Linen is so thankful for what our Military Personnel are doing for us.
Wildflower Linen is also proud to be involved with many special sponsorships and dream weddings in the past years. Since the 4th of July holiday just past, we thought it would be only appropriate to touch on a specific organization that offers Weddings and Wedding related services for Military Personnel at no charge to them. Weddings for Heroes is a New Jersey based organization offering the chance for active US military personnel, veterans, and combat wounded military to apply for a wedding of their dreams which included everything from the decor, venue, food, attire and more.
Just recently, Wedding for Heroes was able to offer their first wedding to a lovely military couple, the Millers at the Oyster Point Hotel in Red Bank, New Jersey. SPC Steven Miller (US Army/USAR) served in Iraq and was deployed to work in an imminent danger zone. While there, he was the recipient of service medals including “Army Commendation Medal”, “Global War on Terrorism Service Medal”, “Army Achievement Medal” and an “Iraq campaign Medal”. Due to his deployment, Steven and his fiance, Danielle were unable to have a beautiful wedding, until now.

Founders Jewel Georgieff and Sandi Silva have been diligently working since May of 2011 to put this organization together. Living amongst the communities surrounding the Fort Dix/Mcguire/Lakehurst mega base in New Jersey, they heard the many stories of how couples couldn’t afford or plan their special wedding and saw the need to help use their services as wedding planners to support our troops. Along with a fabulous board of directors, Weddings for Heroes was born.
All programs are awarded by using funds donated by the general public, funds raised during fundraising efforts, donations by volunteers and company sponsors. Wildflower Linen was so excited to offer our help that we even sent 2 different linen designs for the head table in case one worked better than the other. The wedding decor for this wedding formed around peacock wedding ideas so we knew teal, turquoise or purple color palettes would work.
Congratulations to the Millers and to the people at Weddings for Heroes and all the sponsors that have made this happen! We look forward to helping them again in the near future!!!
Wildflower Linen’s founder Youngsong Martin
to put on her signature fashion show in Beverly Hills
BEVERLY HILLS, California June 10, 2011 — Youngsong Martin is the veteran high-fashion apparel designer who redefined special-event rental decor after founding Wildflower Linen and introducing the industry to her unique brand of designer table linen and chair covers.
From Arizona to Las Vegas, Young has wowed audiences with her signature runway shows in which she instantaneously transforms her luxurious table linens into haute apparel by deftly draping and pinning them to professional high-fashion models. Although these impromptu gowns and dresses revert back into designer Wildflower Linen rental items, it doesn’t stop fashionistas from inquiring about purchasing them to wear at their next event.
This weekend, Youngsong will bring her fashion show here to the landmark Beverly Wilshire, a Four Seasons hotel, on Sunday, June 12, at 3 p.m., when she will unveil Wildflower Linen’s new fall collections of designer fabrics. While guest enjoy this dazzlingly creative trunk show-style linen extravaganza, they will also enjoy cocktails in the Rodeo Terrace room of the Beverly Wilshire, followed by afternoon tea in the hotel’s Le Grand Trianon room.
Youngsong Martin teamed with Event Planner and Designer, Nikki Khan of Exquisite Events, to come up with an East-meets-West theme to the event, including three different design concepts evoking the Hamptons, Paris and India. Youngsong’s newest designs in table linens and chair covers will reflect both the diversity and unity of global decor motifs. “We felt the colors and fabric textures will be very eclectic and uniquely of the regions,” she explains of inspirations taken from Long Island’s posh Hamptons resorts, the romance of Parisian glamour and the colorful, timeless drama of Indian culture.
“What we intend to show is how these regions all think alike aesthetically, even though they are so far apart from each other,” Young says. “For example, India and Paris are so different in culture, color sensibility, lifestyle and cuisine, and yet they also somehow reveal in their unique ways that they are more similar than different, and that they have been influencing each other worldwide for centuries.”
The afternoon of cocktails, Wildflower Linen’s fashion show, and tea service is being hosted by Radha Arora, regional vice president and general manager of the Beverly Wilshire, and by wedding and banquet planner-designer Nikki Khan of Exquisite Events.

The beginning of this month, our team traveled Las Vegas and showcased our newest linen rentals collection at the Catersource/Event Solutions tradeshow. Check out the video to view highlights from the show.

For those who went to Catersource / Event Solutions Convention in Las Vegas, NV, it was our pleasure to debut the new “Canvas Collection”; series of fabrics in its raw state that is then transformed into a more feminine linen with the addition of soft tinted tulle and floral appliqué. Along with this new collection, over 50 additional table linens and chair covers were showcased at this year’s event.
Why the word canvas? One definition for canvas means a piece of coarse natural open weave, used as a foundation to create artwork. The owner and designer, Youngsong Martin, not only wanted to create individual artwork in each piece of this collection, but she wants you to use these items to paint an even bigger picture in the over all design of your event; create the whole picture by using these simple pieces that can be the foundation that ties the entire look and feel together.
With today’s society making an effort to be more eco-friendly, so has the designs as well. Brides are falling in love with romance in the countryside, vineyards, gardens and barn weddings. But rather than keeping it plain and natural, we’ve added a twists and made it pretty and natural! These looks have just been created this year, and we look forward to adding a little extra special to your simply natural events.

Wildflower Linen would like to set new standards of environmental consciousness within the event industry and are so happy to participate in events like this where we can support the environmental movement.
Russian Linen in Khaki and Straw and Organic Twirl in Cocoa and Ivory are linens that are in it’s raw form as they are untreated with dyes or chemicals.
We also carry other environmentally friendly fabrics. What we mean by eco-friendly is that there is no color fastness dyes used. We obtain the color by conventional dyes only. These linens consist of the Russian Linen in Aqua, Portugal, Moss, Florence, and Spring Green.
Other Favorites… These linens exude a more soft and natural feel with little or no shine.
This is the perfect balance of texture and colors working together to bring out a sophsticated, timeless feel.
