Coming Soon – WeTV’s “I Do Over” with Diann Valentine

Thursday, May 12th, 2011

Today, our close friend and celebrity planner, Diann Valentine finally made an announcement about the special projects she’s been working so hard on this year and we couldn’t be more excited to help her spread the word!  Diann is the star and executive producer of the highly anticipated new show on WeTv called I Do Over.  This show is about giving couples who experienced a devastating first wedding a second chance at their dream wedding.

See the commercial currently airing on WeTV to promote all the shows coming this season.  They can’t  air anything about the show just yet but we love the cute promo anyway!

Wildflower Linen is of course excited because we were chosen as the exclusive designer table linen and chair cover rentals for all the couples this season on I Do Over.  With the creative collaboration of Diann Valentine with Wildflower Linen’s Creative Director, Youngsong Martin, these couples definitely will have an amazing dream wedding.   Youngsong  even created custom pieces  for each client’s big “second” day!

We can’t wait to see the episodes and share with you the decor elements and linen items provided to each couple.

With no official listing on when I Do Over will air, it’s rumored to begin sometime this summer!  We will keep you posted.

Till then, congratulations on this successful venture Diann!

Exclusive Tea with E Party at Langham Hotel

Thursday, May 5th, 2011

With over 90 top event planners and media from Southern Califorina attending this afternoon Tea with E Party @ Langham Huntington Hotel in Pasadena, we knew great people and amazing decor were in store for the event!

Photos courtesy of Cean One Photography

Guest enjoyed afternoon tea fit for the Queen including; Candied Ginger and Blueberry Scones, delectable Tea Sandwiches of Smoked Salmon Tower on Sourdough Bread, Coconut Shrimp on Garlic Herb Bread and Bacon and Eggs on Wheat Bread and  desserts with Chocolate Caramel Slice with Sea Salt, Brulee Fruit Tart, Tropical Mango Cone, and a Chocolate Orange Gateau with Grand Marnier.

These images were provided by Raychelle Devilla for Marianne Lozano Photography.

The Noble History of Afternoon Tea

The luxurious ritual of afternoon tea was established in 1840 by Anna, 7th Duchess of Bedford, who served it to ward off hunger pangs in the long hours between lunch and dinner. Her personal indulgence grew into an experience to be shared with her friends, and soon a tradition was born.

The Langham, London Serves World’s First Afternoon Tea at a Luxury Hotel in Europe

The Langham, London opened its doors on June 10, 1865 and served its first afternoon tea for the princely sum of one hilling, six pence. Billed as Teas, Plain, the first afternoon tea consisted of simple but dainty items including cakes, sweets, bread and butter and, of course, tea.

Afternoon Tea in The Lobby Lounge

Today, Langham Hotel serves Langham’s Signature Afternoon tea in their Lobby Lounge Thursday through Saturday and a special Chocolate Afternoon Tea on Sunday.

Take a sneak peak of chair covers that will be available soon on the Wildflower Linen Website.

New Linen & Chair Cover Rentals: Introducing the Annette

Tuesday, May 3rd, 2011

This year’s collection has been slowly popping up in various events across the nation; anywhere from Conventions and Tradeshows to magazine covers and photoshoots.

We would like to finally introduce some of them properly and want to start with a show stopper called the Annette.  This linen is one of the most delicate fabrics we’ve ever worked with but yet, it’s also one of the most beautiful.  It’s made out of tiny sequin that are hand sewn on a transparent mesh fabric.   They currently come in 90″SQ overlays and 132″ rounds.

Morgan Doan of Morgan Events selected these linens above to be showcased at her open house earlier this year with photos taken by Orange Photography.  The Annette linen in silver was paired with an Iridescent Taffeta Teal linen to create an ultra modern and chic feel to match the ambience.

The Annette linen was also seen on the KTLA reel with Brian Worley’s Royal Wedding table in GOLD.  It was used on the CAKE TABLE to the left above.  Click HERE to see the KTLA bit.

Beside the table linen, the Annette is also available in chair cover rentals which  has also gained its own fan base.  The Annette Chivari Chair Cover is unique in that it can have many looks.  You can begin with just using the Annette as a chair back or sleeve.  As a chair back, it will run just below the seat of a chivari chair.  As a sleeve, the Annette  goes straight down the back of the chivari to the floor.  For added fun and flair and depending on your style and needs, you can even add a bottom skirt piece to really make a statement.  These skirts include  fun and frilly Havana style ruffles or for a cleaner look, you can use the fitted nu silk skirt with kick pleats.

Shedding for the Wedding Premieres on the CW!

Wednesday, February 23rd, 2011

Don’t miss out on watching Shedding for the Wedding, premiering this evening on the CW network, home of some of our favorite guilty pleasures – Gossip Girl, One Tree Hill, Vampire Diaries, Hell Cats… need we say more???  You’ll see the contestants choose our designer linens for their weddings in later episodes but we want you to get hooked NOW!  Watch for our designer linens on March 23 when the couples choose their wedding designs and decor and on April 13 as you find out who wins Shedding for the Wedding!  We’ll keep you posted on these special episodes!

Click HERE to watch some trailers.

About Shedding for the Wedding:

They say two of the most stressful things in life are losing weight and getting married. Imagine having to go through both at the same time. In The CW’s new reality competition “Shedding For The Wedding,” that is the challenge that nine overweight couples must face as they compete to see who can lose the most weight and win the wedding of their dreams.

In the series hosted by actress Sara Rue (“Less Than Perfect”), the engaged couples from all walks of life come to Los Angeles, where they will live together and compete over a three-month period. The couples will undergo dramatic physical and emotional transformations as they change their lifestyles and eating habits under the supervision of celebrity nutritionist Ashley Koff (RD). They will also endure hours of grueling workouts with world-class trainers Nicky Holender and Jennifer Cohen.

During this time, the couples will also be planning their fantasy weddings with the help of A-list wedding planner Brian Worley. The unique character and background of each couple will be reflected in the wedding themes they select.

In each episode of “Shedding For The Wedding,” the couples face off in a big physical challenge, competing to win one element of their wedding — from the invitations, to the cake, to the rings. Whatever they win will be theirs to keep. At the end of each episode, the couples will step on the scale and be weighed together — the two couples who have lost the least amount of combined weight that week will face off in an elimination challenge. The couple that loses that challenge will be eliminated.

In the finale, the first seven eliminated couples will return for one more weigh-in. The couple that has continued to lose the most weight at home on their own will win their fantasy honeymoon. Then our final two couples will face off for one last weigh-in. In the end, one couple will win their fantasy wedding — a once-in-a-lifetime event — that America will attend.

Hosted by Sara Rue, “Shedding For The Wedding” is from 25/7, Breakfast Anytime, Horizon Alternative Television and Raquel Productions, with executive producers Dave Broome (“The Biggest Loser”), Rick Hurvitz (“Pimp My Ride”) and Ari Shofet (“Pimp My Ride”).
