Wildflower Linen – Shannon Doherty Wedding Featured in US Weekly Magazine

November 16th, 2011

Wildflower Linen’s “Diana Chair Covers with Rhinestones” take a front seat at the Wedding Nuptials of Shannen Doherty’s wedding featured in US Weekly Magazine.

Last month in late October,Shannen Doherty wed celebrity photographer Kurt Iswarienko in Malibu ceremony. The pair walked down the aisle at sunset in front of 100 of their closest friends and family, and the event is set to air during an upcoming untitled WEtv reality series.

With Wedding Planner and Designer, David Tuteraat hand, Shannen’s Wedding was nothing but fabulous!  Caterer Nathaniel Neubauer served the 162 guests rib eye, branzino and beef and vegetable empanadas. Late night, guests downed truffle-infused deep-fried mac ‘n’ cheese squares!

Wildflower Linen shows off one of their designer table linen rentals and chair cover rentals –  Iridescent Taffeta Diana Chivari Chair Covers – WHITE with Rhinestones.

For more info about the whole evening, read this Excerpt from Life and Style Weekly:

In front of 150 of their closest friends and family, former 90210 star Shannen Doherty said “I do” to longtime partner and photographer Kurt Iswarienko at a private mansion in Malibu on Oct. 15.

“Shannen, whose father passed away in November of 2010, walked herself down the aisle in a long Monique Lhuillier ruffled dress with a maroon waistband that matched a maroon flower pinned onto Kurt’s suit,” a wedding guest reveals to Life & Style. “The flower girls matched in black dresses with maroon accents.”

The guest also reveals that the lavish touches started even before the ceremony. “Everyone was picked up at the Malibu Riding and Tennis Club and shuttled to the private estate. Then they were all taken to the ceremony by a golf cart.”

Shannen even changed into a second Lhuillier number, which she described as “blush with lots and lots of tulle.”

Following the ceremony, everyone enjoyed a cocktail hour outside underneath gorgeous chandeliers hanging from trees and sipped on a specialty cocktail called Yours Truly, which is ZYR vodka, Xante pear liqueur, pomegranate juice and champagne served in a champagne flute. The concoction was made especially for Shannen by celebrity mixologist James Moreland. “There was also a cigar tent for the men nearby, where guests took home cigars with Shannen’s new initials wrapped around it,” the guest tells Life & Style. “And the women enjoyed a ‘make your own perfume’ area.”

As for the reception, no expense was spared when it came to party planner David Tutera’s creative and elegant decor. Guests were surrounded by red and white roses and sat on chairs created by Wildflower Linen with ruffled bustles while dining on huge rib-eye steaks that chefs grilled outside.

And since all good things come in threes, Shannon changed yet again into a tight-fitting knee-length dress with a slit up the side for the reception.

“Over a dozen musicians were set up on an orchestra stage along with a DJ,” says the guest. “The bride and groom’s first dance was to “My Baby Just Cares for Me” by Nina Simone, and they later cut the cake to Johnny Cash’s “Ring of Fire.”

The party lasted well past 2 a.m., and cameras captured the spectacular event for Shannen’s upcoming reality show, The Shannen Doherty Project, on WEtv.

Wildflower Linen Goes International…

October 4th, 2011

For the past three years, Wildflower Linen and Youngsong Martin have been traveling across the globe to Asia to bring American Wedding Design concepts to International Markets. Youngsong started out as a Wedding Marketing Consultant for Lotte Hotels in Korea, helping to design Wedding Packages for their hotels as well as facilitate their annual Wedding Event. She is now in full swing furthering her Asian expansion by working with Beijing, China.

About Lotte Hotels:

Lotte Hotels & Resorts is Korea’s largest luxury chain hotel with six hotels including: Seoul, Worlk, Ulsan, Busan, Jeju and Moscow. With Youngsong being somewhat of a celebrity in Korea due to her success with Wildflower Linen and previously as a reputable fashion designer in the US, it was no wonder she caught the attention of Lotte Hotels head of Marketing and top managers interested in expanding their “wedding” market. In just one year of Youngsong’s first Wedding Event 3 years ago, Lotte Hotel’s wedding revenue has increased by over 100%!

Every year, Lotte Hotels in Korea hosts a Wedding Marketing Event that brings Korea’s top movie stars, socialites, and VIP guests to join in an evening to view the most elaborate and glamorous wedding decor and style influenced from Western Culture. This includes everything from a full scale ceremony site, dressed to the nine’s cocktail area and a full blown reception dinner seated for 700.

For months prior, Youngsong Martin and a Wildflower Linen team prepare for this huge event in the US where they design everything from the theme, florals, colors, fabrics and logistics for the event. Once the design elements are in place, Youngsong brings with her an additional team of top event professionals from the US, including planners, designers, lighting companies and florists that accompany her to Korea to execute the design plans. Each year, Youngsong chooses different event professionals so that they too can share in this international experience.

2012 Lotte Hotel Wedding Event:

This year, Youngsong’s theme for the Lotte Hotel event was an over the top “Classic Royal Garden” inspired by the British Royal Wedding along with elements from Grecian Gods and Athens, Greece.  With last year following a “modern cutting-edge minimalist” approach, Youngsong felt this year should celebrate a more abundant and elaborate design, filling every space on the table and in the room.  Regardless of the theme, Youngsong is always mindful to infuse the trends and styles that are current in the Korean culture along with her designs.

The Gazebo was designed to emote an ethereal feel with cast iron rods, covered in champagne drapery and surrounded by a backdrop of lush boxwood hedges.  The Ceremony Runway was lined using one of our new linens, the Annette in GOLD.  It was also featured in a tablescape showcasing the table linen, chair sleeves with our marilyn ostrich feathers and as chair pad covers.

Just as gold is a symbol of wealth in most cultures and red is adorn on ancient palace ceilings in China, Youngsong wanted to bring in the colors of celedon to symbolize the kingdoms in ancient Korea. All the dinner table linens, chair covers and napkins reflected these colors using our Iridescent Taffeta Turquoise fabrics and Phoenix Aqua Lace overlay.  Over a dozen crystal and gold chandeliers that were covered in thousands of florals, were brought in to resemble Greek goddess headpieces.  Lush centerpieces, Wildflower Linen Gold Lotus Napkin Rings and other fine details filled every inch of the dinner tables.  Over 400 candles were used to create a wall of light.  Uplights and pinspots throughout the entire ballroom created ambient lighting to complete the look.

Other spaces of the Lotte Hotel showcased different vignettes including a special hommage to an organic sustainabile environment, decorated tablescapes and a full ice bar in the lounge area.

The whole event was a success and Wildflower Linen and Youngsong Martin are excited to plan next year’s event.

Stay tuned as we will share a part two with some favorite photos of the past 2 events designed by Youngsong Martin.

A San Francisco City Hall Wedding

September 28th, 2011

Not much needs to be said about this over-the-top elegant wedding that took place at City Hall in San Francisco last year…the pictures speak for themselves.

COCKTAIL:

The Cocktail Area was filled with a Thailand inspired theme to pay homage to the Bride’s  family roots.   This included 2 - 4 foot tall floral elephant structures that greeted you in the entryway,  hundreds of hanging orchids, custom Thai inspired furniture and artifacts, and a 15 foot custom made tree used for the escort cards.

RECEPTION:

Thousands of flowers were used for this event including building the archway to the Rotunda at City Hall, one of San Francisco’s most beautiful buildings.  5 foot table centerpieces, mercury glassware and  an over abundance of florals covered every table.  The linen rentals used to dress up the tables were our Shantung Amethyst for the table linen and napkins as well as our Winston Napkin Rings made up of silver crystals.

AFTER DINNER PaRtY:

Not only was there dancing on a custom dance floor and stage, vignettes in the bride and groom’s favorite eats were created for guest to enjoy some late night snacks.  This included a pub with a variety of the groom’s favorite liquor, a sushi vignette and an adorable patisserie in honor of the bride’s favorite goodies.   Gloria of Gloria Wong Design created the whole atmosphere and design for the entire wedding while Jubilee of Jubilee Lau Events facilitated the planning and logistics for this large scale event.   And last but not least, guess who else joined the party??? – none other than the Village People!

Celebrity Weddings and Over-The-Top Designs…

August 19th, 2011

In honor of Kim Kardashian’s  upcoming wedding to Kris Humphries tomorrow, Wildflower Linen would like to do a tribute to celebrity weddings and amazing over-the-top designs.  We also can’t help but to mention that all brides, whether a celeb or not, should have designer table linen and chair cover rentals in their decor to make their wedding an ultimate masterpiece!

From the sweet whimsical details of Carrie Underwood and Hilary Duff to the elegance of Ivanka Trump and Nicole Richie, there have been so many beautiful weddings with gorgeous decor and style.

This is the perfect time to share the feature wedding of John and Allyson… winner of the show Bridalplasty which was featured earlier this year on E! Entertainment.  This is the piece de resistance to over-the-top glam weddings.

The wedding took place at a beautiful estate in Malibu, called Villa Cascata and with the help of event planner Jessica,  from Events By Design, we were able to get a lot of great details about the whole event!

Guests enjoyed a lovely ceremony and a gorgeous cocktail area filled with Moroccan flair and a green motif to enhance the amazing view of the pool area.   Along the path were a bunch of little Moraccan sitting areas which encouraged guests to sit and soak in the view.

The planner hung feather escort cards in gorgeous large birdcages and place it over looking the ocean, on the path to the reception tent.  Besides the food, Good Gracious!  catering created the signature drink of the event which was a delicious blueberry purple basil mojito.  The entire menu was designed to please  any palate with lots of good eats.   Appetizers consisted of goodies such as Mac N Cheese Cupcakes, Caesar Salad Cones & Short Rib Popovers.

THE  RECEPTION TENT:  Rrivre Davies of Rrivre Works was the head decor designer for the event.  He created not only the details of the cocktail hour, but also one of the most amazing over the top tents we’ve ever seen.   Rrivre draped the entire inside of the tent in silver fabric and accented the space with gold mirrors and crystal chandeliers.  There were even mirrors on the ceiling!   One side of the tent was covered in gold mirrors but the other half was covered in gold windows so guests could continue to enjoy the ocean view until the sun went down.  A custom bar was even created to keep with the rest of the decor style.

Wildflower Linen used 2 types of linens and chair cover rentals that were in the same color tones.  This made for more interest within the tent space.  We used a new linen called the  Hanae Silver Linen and paired it with the Curly Willow Lavender Chair caps.  We then used a more natural linen called the Homestead in Grey to compliment the more detailed Coquette Lavender Chair sleeve.

Sweetheart Table – Do something fun and interesting if you plan on being the center of attention!  Here, the glass table with gold fixtures held it’s own with these delectable chair covers.  This would be a great place to use designer chair cover rentals in the colors of your event as a special bride and grooms chair.

Katie Gaines from eitak Designs designed the invitations and made the menu cards more interactive by creating a scroll style that guests could open.  The amazing florals were from LA Premier.

July 26th, 2011

Wildflower Linen has finally been approved to share our excitement over having provided the linens for Prince William and Kate Middleton’s Polo Match Luncheon sponsored by Tiffany & Co.  The event was held at the Santa Barbara Polo and Racquet Club in Carpinteria, CA on July 9, 2011.  The polo match and luncheon event, called The Foundation Polo Challenge, was held to support the American Friends of The Foundation of Prince William and Prince Harry.

Prince William took to the field himself during the match and scored 4 goals, which led his team to victory with the score of 5-2.  His beauitful wife, Kate Middleton presented him with the trophy.  Many celebrities were in attendance including Joe Jonas, Zoe Saldana, Rob Lowe, Jennifer Love Hewitt, Rosario Dawson and Molly Sims. He made a lovely speech after the match.

After the match, the day’s festivities continued with an exclusive private reception and a three-course luncheon created by celebrity chef Giada de Laurentiis.  She served over 3,600 people at this luncheon.  Celebrity event planner Brian Worley from Your Bash!, recently known for his work on the CW’s Shedding for the Wedding,  was on hand to make the event as seamless and beautiful as the guest of honors.

Celebrating 4th of July – The Style Me Pretty Way…

July 8th, 2011

We know Independence Day just past, but with this inspirational 4th of July photoshoot  featured in Style Me Pretty, who can stop celebrating Independence Day!  La Vida Creations Photography photographed this lovely shoot crafted with the Americana design and styling by Taylored OccasionsMinted Condition and florals by Isari Flower Studio + Event Design.

An Excerpt from Style Me Pretty:

From Isari Flower Studio + Event DesignAfter working together on a wedding last May, La Vida Creations Photography, Taylored Occasions, and Isari Flower Studio were excited to collaborate on a stylized shoot featuring a gorgeous local venue in San Diego. With a vintage American feel, The Condor’s Nest offers the perfectly unique character to inspire the theme “Americana”. The property is home to a family of animals that mimic the characters of Charlotte’s Web… horses, exotic chickens, pigs, and even two goats. Vintage accents take guests back to a simpler time, creating a very relaxed vibe. The peaceful setting boasts sweeping views of rolling foothills, lush valleys and glimpses of the Pacific Ocean in the distance. From the sun-kissed red barn, to the vintage red farm vehicles parked around the perimeter of the ranch, we highlighted the bold beauty of these property features and carried that through our design and details. This was at the center of the inspiration for Americana, a modern twist where American Apple Pie meets Rock ‘n’ Roll with a whimsical modern flair that breathes new life into these American traditions.

The main table was set with Russian linen tablecloths resembling bags of grain. The casual folding wooden chairs and the vintage farm trucks parked around the main lawn complemented the sun-kissed red barn. This barn served as the main character and unifying element throughout the three vignettes we created.
