Revving up Reve

Thursday, August 14th, 2008

This event produced by the San Francisco chapter of the International Special Events Society (ISES) was titled “Reve: A Nocturnal Fete.” Reve is French for dream and obviously, this fete was going to have a French theme.

I find it both fun and satisfying to help event designers and planners realize their event dreams through linen and chair covers. For this event, the look was inspired by Erte. His work during France’s Art Deco period helped define a color palette that is instantly recognizable and synonymous with French glamour.

To help the ISES Design Committee make this theme come alive, the tabletop design began with a deep burgundy linen that has a modern spin — the Lily Pad cloth from Wildflower Linen’s new three-dimensional linen line. Appliques of lily pads added an exciting visual element and textile experience for the guests.

And on the cocktail chairs, our Snake Skin Black Corset Chiavari Caps with Gromets was used — so wild yet so stylish — not unlike French fashion design!
