Barbie’s 50th Anniversary Bash in Malibu

Wednesday, March 11th, 2009

As part of a year of worldwide events in honor of the 50th anniversary of Mattel’s Barbie doll, guests were invited to a beach house done up to look like a luxe version of the Barbie’s Malibu Dream House. And we were thrilled when Colin Cowie asked us to dress up a few tabletops in Barbie’s signature Hot Pink color.

Between the Covers

Friday, September 19th, 2008

The latest issue of BizBash is out and Wildflower is “between its covers!” BizBash is one of the industry’s best places to find the latest on design ideas, trends, buisness and more. This past year, I gave a presentation on linen trends during the BizBash conference held in Los Angeles. My appearance received attention in this issue.

As for further speaking engagements, I’m going to be presenting a seminar at The Special Event in San Diego this coming January as well as a design seminar at the Catersource / Event Solutions conference and tradeshow in February, 2009.

I’ll keep you posted closer to the time and give my blog readers a sneak preview of my 2009 design forecasts!

Gay Marriage = Avant Garde Design

Thursday, June 26th, 2008

How will the new legislation allowing gay marriages affect Californian event planners and vendors? This was the question BizBash Los Angeles posed to a number of event professionals, myself included, and published online this week.

My thoughts? That it’s an exciting development that will create another level of design. No doubt many of these couples will eschew traditional wedding design for more avant garde looks.

A “Record” Event

Tuesday, June 17th, 2008

Several weeks ago, Wildflower Linen had the honor to be part of the star-studded annual fund-raising event for the Heart Foundation of Cedars-Sinai Medical Center. The evening took place at the Beverly Hilton Hotel and honoree Berry Gordy of Motown was feted with performances by Louis Price, Thelma Houston and Teena Marie.

The tables shimmered with our silver Paillette linen and a blue underlay picked up the vibrant blue hydrangea that filled a series of glass vases on each table.

The event was featured in BizBash. Take a look!

20 Questions

Thursday, June 5th, 2008

This week has been busy! We’ve been rushing to get ready to exhibit and speak at the BizBash Los Angeles Event Style Expo Show & Awards later TODAY! We’re also up for an award for our new Chloe linen. This is the first time we’ve been up for an award so it’s been on the back of my mind all week, keeping me a little on edge. Wish us luck!

And on June 3, I played 20 Questions with Greer Wylder, editor of Greer’s Daily Dose of OC, a blog that covers people and events in Orange County. Here is the link:

Wildflower Linen Nominated for BizBash Style Award!

Tuesday, May 6th, 2008
Our New Star — the Chloe!
We are thrilled that our new Chloe table linen for highboy tables has been nominated for a 2008 BizBash Event Style Award in the
category of Best New Product.
The winner will be announced at the BizBash Event Style Expo
on June 5 in Los Angeles.
We’ll keep you posted on the awards;
in the meantime, here’s more about Chloe…

The Chloe. A unique linen that is truly haute couture for cocktail tables.

The Chloe. Created to mimic the hourglass shape of elegant evening gowns and the women who wear them, The Chloe is the latest line from the “house of Wildflower Linen” to be named after fashion icons. Who can forget the studded leatherette corset chair back named after Cher or the iridescent taffeta bustled dress chair cover named for Princess Diana?

The Chloe. Delicate, mushroom pleated organza is tailored to wrap around the legs of a highboy table like the tendrils of a delicate vine. With a top of rich, solid satin, the Chloe adds high drama to any elegant event.

Not since the Spandex wrap has there been so fresh an idea for table ware!
