Brides.com Vendor Event

Friday, May 30th, 2008

Fun. Unique. Exciting. These are some of the comments we heard about our linen at the brides.com vendor party this month. We used a variety of our newest looks for 2008.

THE CHARLOTTE

This short cocktail table is wearing our Charlotte linen, just one of my newest designs for 2008. It’s an iridescent taffeta with a custom hand sewn bustle that was inspired by the bridal gowns seen worn by many a bride and bridesmaid.

THE PARACHUTE

On the cake table, we used our Parachute linen. Again, it’s an iridescent taffeta but this time the gathering begins from the top of the table and down the sides of the table. When pulled, the table takes on a similar look as though it were swagged, but without having to spend a lot of time rouching and pinning the cloth. Having the opportunity to revive some traditional bridal looks was my goal when I designed both of these cloths.

Wildflower Linen at Opera Pacific Ball

Thursday, May 22nd, 2008

This year was my fourth year on the design committee of the Opera Pacific’s annual fund-raising event. It was also the Opera Pacific’s Silver Anniversary. To reflect this milestone as well as complement Chameleon Chair’s Chloe chair in pink we brought silver to the forefront of the design. The tabletops were created with a silver Paillette cloth (a new addition in that collection), with an underlay of Garden Fuchsia, one of the 40 new colors in the matte satin collection. When the doors opened for dinner, the entire room shimmered with light.

Design Tip: For events like fundraisers, using linen like this creates a dramatic effect on the overall look, not the bottom line.
